NRH was founded on a simple belief: food insecurity isn’t a resource problem — it’s a distribution problem. Every year, enormous amounts of good, edible food go to waste while families in our own community go without. We started NRH to close that gap.
What began as a small group of volunteers collecting surplus food from local businesses has grown into a full nonprofit organisation with structured distribution programs, community partnerships, and a zero-waste mission that treats food rescue and hunger relief as two sides of the same coin.

Our Mission
At NRH, our mission is to end food insecurity in our community by rescuing surplus food, distributing it with dignity, and building sustainable, zero-waste systems that nourish people without harming the planet. We believe access to nutritious food is a basic human right — not a privilege — and we work every day to make that belief a reality for the families, seniors, and individuals who need us most.

How We Work
We collaborate with local grocers, faith communities, schools, and volunteers to build a coordinated hunger-relief network. By combining food rescue with efficient distribution, we’re able to stretch every donated dollar further — turning surplus into support.
